NEW MARKET — Elsie M. Steele, 83, of New Market, died at 7:45 a.m. today in Houston Health Care Center at Crawfordsville. Mrs. Steele was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church. She was a graduate of New Market High School. Born Oct. 2, 1895, near New Market, she was a daughter of Milbert and Americas Van Cleave Sayler. She married Frank Steele on Oct. 3, 1917. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Emmery of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Edna) Conrad of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Basil (Alice) Hester of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville; a brother, Hubert Sayler of Anapolis; a sister, Elva Milligan of Waveland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a granddaughter are deceased. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Powers Funeral Home at New Market with the Rev. Harry Hybarger officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday
